Welcome

Welcome to the homepage of the Environmental Science in Society Lab. We are a research group located at the University of Toronto Scarborough in the campus’ Environmental Science and Chemistry Building. Dr. Nicole Klenk and Dr. Jim MacLellan are the lab’s directors, who specialize in environmental governance and decision analysis (respectively).

Our lab members have diverse academic backgrounds, which include training in the natural sciences (forestry, invasive species, fisheries, climate change mitigation and adaptation) and social sciences (political science, geography). These different backgrounds bring unique insight and analysis to the contemporary problems of environmental governance.

Our lab investigates problems and pursues solutions to environmental challenges. Our work ranges from highly applied to purely theoretical, and from local to international scales of governance. Please visit our Research, Publications and Team pages for more on our lab and the research interests of our members.
